NAIROBI — Eldas Member of Parliament, Adan Keynan, has hailed the construction of Wajir Stadium as a defining pillar and an iconic symbol of equity, fairness and equal opportunity in Kenya’s development journey.
In a statement shared on his official social media platforms, the long-serving legislator said the stadium, which is progressively taking shape, is more than just a sports facility. He described it as a statement of inclusion and a testament to what deliberate government investment can achieve for regions long left on the margins.
“The presence and progressive construction of Wajir Stadium is beautifully emerging as a defining pillar and iconic symbol of what equity, fairness and equal opportunity can achieve when government deliberately invests in every part of the country,” Keynan stated.

For decades, the people of Northern Kenya have borne the brunt of historical marginalisation, grappling with limited access to critical national infrastructure, from roads and schools to health facilities and sports amenities.
Keynan noted that the narrative is now changing, not through rhetoric, but through visible, tangible action on the ground.
“For decades since Independence, the people of Northern Kenya have carried the weight of historical marginalisation and limited access to critical national infrastructure. Today, however, we are witnessing a renewed commitment to inclusion, not merely in word, but more importantly, in action,” he said.
According to the MP, the stadium project affirms a fundamental constitutional truth: that Kenya is one nation and every Kenyan, regardless of their geographical location, deserves an equal opportunity to thrive.
He lauded President William Samoei Ruto’s administration for what he termed responsible governance anchored on bridging historical development gaps and deepening national cohesion.
“This is what responsible governance under President William Samoei Ruto looks like—a deliberate effort to bridge historical development gaps, deepen national inclusion and translate the constitutional promise of equity and equalisation into tangible development on the ground,” Keynan added.
The Wajir Stadium, is expected to transform the sporting landscape of the entire North Eastern region, providing a modern platform for youth talent development, hosting national events, and spurring local economic growth.
Keynan emphasized that true national unity can only be achieved when no region is left behind.
“A truly united Kenya is one where no region is left behind, no community is forgotten and every young Kenyan has the space and opportunity to realise their full potential,” he said.
