RHAMU DIMTU, MANDERA – In a show of remarkable clan unity, Abdi Yunis Guliye was on Sunday unanimously endorsed as the sole flag-bearer of the larger Jibrail sub-clan for the Mandera North Parliamentary seat ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The landmark endorsement ceremony, held in Rhamu Dimtu town within Mandera Constituency, drew an unprecedented mammoth crowd of political and religious leaders, elders, professionals, youth, women and persons with disabilities. The gathering reflected deep community consensus as residents from across the sub-clan converged to back one candidate early in the electoral cycle.

Mandera County Minority Whip Aden Ali Hussein, who addressed the gathering, praised Guliye as a leader fully equipped to represent the people of Mandera North. “Abdi Yunis Guliye has the vision, integrity and capacity that Mandera North desperately needs. He understands our challenges and possesses the courage to deliver lasting solutions. The Jibrail people have made the right choice today,” Hussein declared to thunderous applause.

Traditional leaders added significant weight to the occasion. The Ugasins and the Sultan of the community jointly and unanimously endorsed Guliye’s candidature. In a powerful joint statement, they said: “After careful consultation and prayer, we, the traditional custodians of the Jibrail, fully endorse Abdi Yunis Guliye as our sole candidate. His character, humility and commitment to the people leave no doubt. We call upon every member of the sub-clan to stand firmly behind him.”

One professional present, Engineer Mohamed Abdi, a respected development expert from the area, also voiced strong support: “In Abdi Yunis we have a candidate who combines education, experience and genuine passion for community progress. His focus on practical solutions gives us real hope for transformation in Mandera North.”

Speaking after the endorsement, a visibly moved Abdi Yunis Guliye expressed profound gratitude. “I am deeply humbled by this overwhelming trust from our elders, leaders, youth, women and the entire Jibrail community. This endorsement is not mine alone; it belongs to every one of you who believes in a better Mandera North. I accept this responsibility with humility and solemn commitment to serve without fear or favour.”

Guliye then outlined his key priorities should he be elected. He pledged to prioritise economic development by boosting local trade, supporting small and medium enterprises and creating meaningful jobs for the youth. On education, he promised improved school infrastructure, transparent management of bursary funds and expanded technical skills training. Healthcare access would be strengthened through upgraded local health centres, public health outreach and wellness programmes. Infrastructure and agriculture would receive equal attention with better roads, reliable water access and enhanced farming support systems.

Beyond development, Guliye emphasised the critical need for peace and cohesion among all communities living in Mandera North, equitable sharing of resources, and unwavering transparency and accountability in public service.

The early and decisive endorsement positions Abdi Yunis Guliye as a formidable contender for the Mandera North seat, setting the stage for an intense campaign season leading to the 2027 polls.
