WAJIR, KENYA— Born in the resilient heart of Wajir County, Kenya, CPA Hassan Issack entered the world at the Wajir County Referral Hospital, a fitting prelude to a life marked by determination and service. Growing up in this arid, dynamic region, Hassan’s early years instilled in him a profound appreciation for community and opportunity, shaping a path from humble beginnings to influential leadership.
Hassan’s academic journey was nothing short of stellar. He ignited his scholarly fire at Wajir Township Primary School, where he reigned as the top Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) student of his cohort, clinching an extraordinary 490 out of 700 marks—a testament to his innate brilliance and unyielding focus. Transitioning to Wajir High School, he sustained this momentum, securing a robust B+ in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), unlocking doors to higher education. Fueled by a fervent passion for finance, he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance at the prestigious Egerton University, honing his analytical prowess. Undeterred in his quest for mastery, Hassan advanced to Kenyatta University, earning a Master’s Degree in Finance, solidifying his expertise in economic stewardship.
With over 16 years of illustrious experience spanning public, private, and non-governmental sectors, CPA Hassan’s career exemplifies merit-driven ascent. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), he has collaborated with luminaries like Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), Gulf Bank, and ALDEF, blending fiscal acumen with ethical rigor. Joining KPLC in 2011, he has dedicated 14 years to transformative roles in Finance and Internal Audit across headquarters and regional outposts, rising through competitive ranks via sheer competence and integrity.

As Wajir’s County Business Manager, Hassan’s achievements illuminate his visionary impact. He spearheaded electricity retailing to connected customers, mirroring the mandate of Kenya’s 47 County Business Managers. Under his stewardship, Wajir witnessed unprecedented power expansion via the Last Mile Connectivity Program, illuminating thousands of households from Sarif to Basir, Abakore to Kutulo, and Gurar—bridging rural divides and fostering economic vitality.
He fortified a resilient distribution network amid arid challenges, tackling generator breakdowns and capacity shortages through innovative tri-phase solutions: short-term 1 MW boosts, medium-term solar hybrids, and long-term national grid integration with KETRACO and local leaders. These feats not only power progress but embody Hassan’s legacy of inclusive, sustainable development.
