MARSABIT— The Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed I. Amin, continued his security assessment tour of Marsabit County with a visit to the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) Camp at Gas in North Horr Sub-County.

Upon arrival, the Director was welcomed by Mr. John Kiprop, Officer Commanding ASTU M-Company at Gas.

The visit focused on evaluating the unit’s operational readiness and underscoring the critical role ASTU officers play in combating stock theft and enhancing regional security.

Mr. Amin was accompanied by senior officials, including CHRP (K) Ibrahim Jillo, MBS, OGW, HSC, AIG, Director of the National Central Bureau (NCB) at DCI; Mr. Adan Guyo, OGW, AIG, Officer Commanding the Capital Markets Fraud Investigations Unit; and Mr. Samuel Kiplong, Sub-County Police Commander for North Horr, along with other senior officers.

In addition to official duties, the DCI boss Amin joined local community members at Galasa Jamia Mosque in the Gas area, where he participated in prayers and conducted a community engagement session.

 


He urged residents to collaborate closely with police officers, emphasizing that robust teamwork between communities and security agencies is essential for sustaining lasting peace and security.

This ongoing tour underscores the National Police Service’s dedication to bolstering security, fostering community-police partnerships, and ensuring safety and stability during the festive season.
