WAJIR— The Rerow Abdi family, a key sub-clan within the larger Garen community have formally declared their support for Abdullahi Mohamed alias Sajo as their preferred parliamentary candidate for 2027 general election. The endorsement was announced after a well-attended consultative meeting held in Adajole— bringing together elders, intellectuals, youth leaders and other representatives of the community.
During the meeting, senior elders noted that the five-year leadership tenure of former Member of Parliament Ahmed Abdisalam has concluded. They further highlighted that he is currently serving as a Principal Secretary (PS) in the National Government, a responsibility that limits his availability to continue representing the constituency— As a result, the community agreed on the need for new leadership that can fully focus on advancing the interests and priorities of the family, and the good people of Wajir North by extension.
The family unanimously resolved that Abdullahi Sajo is the official flag bearer of the Rerow Abdi family. Other speakers who spoke at the consultative meeting underscored that Abdullahi’s candidacy enjoys broad-based support from the majority of the renown elders, community intellectuals and opinion leaders.
In their closing remarks; elders, intellectuals and youth representatives jointly expressed strong confidence in Abdullahi Sajo’s leadership. They described him as a unifying figure with a clear vision, proven experience and the capacity to effectively represent the community while advocating for development, inclusion and good governance.
The Rerow Abdi family reaffirmed its commitment to standing firmly behind Abdullahi Sajo, and working collectively towards the successful realization of their shared political aspirations.
