MANDERA— Mandera North Member of Parliament Bashir Sheikh Abdullahi has intensified efforts to transform education and public service delivery in Mandera North Constituency with the commissioning of several key infrastructure projects and the groundbreaking of modern administrative offices.
On a busy development tour, the MP first commissioned modern teachers’ quarters at Olla Boys Secondary School, a facility fully funded by the Mandera North National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF). Speaking at the event, MP Abdullahi emphasized the critical link between teacher welfare and quality education.
“We often say that education is the greatest equalizer, but we cannot expect quality results if our educators are not well-accommodated,” he said. “For too long, housing challenges have affected teacher retention and morale in remote schools. These new quarters will allow our teachers to focus fully on mentoring the next generation.”

The MP reiterated his administration’s commitment to comprehensive school infrastructure upgrades, including classrooms, laboratories and staff housing to ensure every child in Mandera North accesses world-class education.
Later in the day MP Abdullahi continued the tour with the official opening of additional facilities across the constituency:
– Two modern classrooms at Seyid Yussuf Primary School to reduce congestion.
– Two newly built classrooms at Dara Primary School.
– A brand-new administration block at Kubi Hills Primary and Junior School to provide dignified working space for staff.

In a move for administrative efficiency, the MP also presided over the groundbreaking of two state-of-the-art chief’s offices at Ogorweyn and Quramathow locations. He noted that Mandera North is now the only constituency in Kenya with chief’s offices of such high caliber, designed to deliver dignified, high-capacity service to residents.
“These offices will serve as essential hubs, bringing Huduma closer to the people so they no longer travel long distances for government services,” he stated.

MP Bashir Abdullahi thanked the school managements, NG-CDF committee, local communities and residents for their partnership and trust. He was accompanied by Hon. Eliyas Jimale (MCA Rhamu Dimtu), Hon. Ismail Sheikh Hussein (MCA Ashabito), Hon. Halima Khalif (Nominated MCA), and the Deputy County Commissioner of Ashabito Sub-County.
The initiatives emphasize the MP’s focus on equitable development and improved access to education and government services across Mandera North.
